Hello, I was lead to this page from ds106.us, by Cynthia Sarver. I have to say I love the motto for your website! I’m a student from Temple University, Japan Campus, in Tokyo.

Not many people have kept up with the “Protect IP Act” or the Internet Blacklist Bill — S.968. It certainly requires attention, and thank you for posting it were a lot of people would care.
As for me, I’m subscribed to this guys:

The demand progress team has been a significant actor against these bills. From a political point of view, they seem very liberal, but politics aside; they are the best source to keep up with all these preposterous laws against the internet.
They email their supporters with every new event, and will most likely ask us to sign petitions. I usually read what it is. They will easily email it to your State Rep. or governor. I have received numerous email from my State politicians telling me my voice has been heard.

Once you sign one petition, your name and email are saved for the next ones, and you just click “send” instead of inputting your info every time. I only participates in the events I care about, and can subscribe when ever I want.

Hi Walter. How cool that you found me through ds106! That course is amazing and I am grateful for the kickstart it gave me (I created this blog for the course), as well as for the course structure that allows me to still be connected to the community — and thereby folks like you and Jim Groom.

The info you pass along is extremely useful. THANK YOU. I will subscribe to http://demandprogress.org/, too. I mean, without internet freedom not only would Movements such as Occupy Wall Street not be possible, but ds106 wouldn’t be possible either. I’m wondering if there is an internet freedom discussion going on within the course? I have to admit that I’m not often on the site.

      Thanks again for your comment!

Hi Cynthia! I’m glad you replied. Demand process keeps me meticulously updated :) Although I’m shy to introduce it to people, as they are pretty political, and people unfortunately forget their passions and ethics when it comes to politics :( Funny how it should be the other way around!

As for ds106, I’m ashamed to say I don’t know either! However, there’s a writing assignment to submit for something we are passionate about, and I think I will do it on this!

    See you on the Net!
